News Digest: Middle East is top source of OFW members to Pag-IBIG

MANILA–OVERSEAS Filipino workers (OFWs) from Saudi Arabia are among the most number of members to Manila’s Home Development Mutual Fund or Pag-IBIG Fund.

Pag-IBIG’s membership and collection data showed that over 169,558 OFWs from the Middle East signed for Pag-IBIG for reactivation of membership or for first-time membership in 2011.

Meanwhile, the Pag-IBIG Fund’s 2011 data showed that additional members who had enlisted prior to their departure from the Philippines as OFs or OFWs were 400,725.

As of December 2011, there were 730,810 OFWs who chose to register as Pag-IBIG Fund members prior to working overseas.
